Post Election UpDate. As many of you know we were not successfull in getting a Majority of the votes. Our campaign amassed about 700 votes or 6%+- of the vote. We can be satisfied that we received the BEST 6 % of the voters and these 6% of the Voters had a REAL choice instead of having to vote for the lesser of two evils. It needs to be remembered that it was only 3% that participated in the Revolutionary war. One candidate spent $50,000 for 10,000 votes or $5 per vote. Another Candidate spent $7000 for 5000 votes. Our campaign spent $700 for 700 votes or $1 per vote. A good showing for the Constitution Party at any rate. A true NoBama/NoRino campaign.

The Overstreet Campaign For State Senate 46 is officially off the ground. You will have a candidate to vote for that is NOT a NeoCon, Has no loyality to the Obama Campaign or party and is a TeaParty affiliate.  Not a lawyer, not a salesman, not an insurance salesman or stooge, never worked for the government.

Platform Highlights :  Overstreet MS 2011 Campaign For State Senate District 46

Platform Summary : More Liberty and Less Taxes - ReInstate Mississippi's State Boundaries - Insurance Reform ... No Government mandated Insurance requirements - Non-Profit Insurance Cooperatives - No Eminent Domain except on main roads and for public/Not Private benefit - Right to vote on City Annexation issue's.

Should I be Elected, I would :

1. STATE BOUNDARIES : Work to ReInstate Mississippi's State Boundaries. MS Constitution

2. ANNEXATION ELECTIONS : Would work to require Free Elections prior to any city or district annexation taking place.

3. FINANCIAL STATEMENTS : Would work to require all government entities ( Especially Fire Districts ) ( Especially Water And Sewer Districts ) ( Especially Water And Sewer Authorities ) to prepare and keep on file their annual financial statements.

4. INSURANCE REFORM : Would work to make home owners insurance affordable by introducing concepts such as "Fortified Certification" and "All Perils Assessment".  Would work for insurance being a NonProfit Cooperative that pays claims and NOT a rouge private company set up to charge high premiums, deny claims, and pay high CEO Salaries.

5. ILLEGAL ALIENS : Would work to see that Illegal Aliens do not take jobs from Natural Born US Citizens anywhere in the State Of Mississippi.

6. TRANSPARENCY : Would work for transparency ( Financial Statements, Minutes, AccessToPublic ) for all Government Entities, and NonProfit organizations. Would work to see to it that all Government Entities were willing and capable of sending and receiving Email, ... same with VoiceMail.

7. TOWN HALL MEETINGS : Would plan on having periodic town hall meeting to solicit the views of the constituants.

Detailed Platform  :

1. MS INSURANCE REFORM :

1.1 CAMPAIGN BRIBERY : Enact Insurance Reform Legislation where the MS Insurance Commissioner has term limits and does not accept campaign bribery  from the very industry that THE OFFICE regulates. Make the Insurance Commissioner office an appointed office.

1.2 INSURANCE FOR PROFIT ONLY : To replace high profit insurance ( Which does not pay claims ) with non profit cooperatives ( Which always pay claims ) i.e. Wind Pool, All Perils Natural Disaster Insurance, NFIP National Flood Insurance Program, etc ... .

1.3 RATE INCREASES : To reform the insurance industry such that they cannot increase your insurance rates once they have quoted you a rate. Require that all insurance be purchased on credit such that there is no possibility that the policy can be cancelled

1.4 POLICY FORMAT RESTRICTIONS : To reform the insurance industry where the policy's are all written in the same format and without any exclusions.

1.5 HIGH WATER MARKS : To reform the insurance industry such that the person selling the policy informs the insured what the base floor elevation of the home is and where 30 foot Katrina Water Mark will be on their roof, 2nd floor, or 1st floor ( Regardless of Published FEMA Flood Zones ).

1.6 CONSTRUCTION - GRANDFATHER CLAUSE : To guarantee that those Mississippi Citizens whose homes did not suffer structural damage during Hurricane Katrina be able to repair their homes to Pre-Katrina building codes and be guaranteed affordable subsidized insurance rates. This does not apply to people selling Spec Houses.

1.7 CONSTRUCTION - NEW -  Storm Zones - New construction in high velocity storm zones, area's subject to unbroken winds, area's subject to unobstructed storm surge, v-zones or a-zones need to be first designed, properly permitted, properly constructed in accordance will all the latest building codes.

1.8 CONSTRUCTION - NEW - Non-Storm Zones - New construction in area's not affect by UnBroken hurricane winds or Wind Driven Storm Surge should have a lowered building construction codes and with proper design and construction;  enjoy Pre-Katrina insurance rates.

1.9 GAG ORDER LAWSUIT SETTLEMENTS  : To outlaw gag order lawsuits where the insured has to follow an AntiFreeSpeech Gag order in order to receive an insurance settlement and the public is deprived of case law to settle future cases. What is happening here is the trial lawyers are using the threat of a trial ( IN A PUBLIC COURT ) with possible punitive damages to extort money and the Insurance Companies are bribing the insured to stay quiet to prevent case law from being used to settle cases ( FOR PUBLIC BENEFIT ) .

1.10 FREEDOM OF INFORMATION : To make public all NFIP flood insurance dispursements and MDA-HAP Grant awards.

2. REINSTATE MISSISSIPPI'S STATE BOUNDARIES : To introduce a state initiative and/or legislation reinstating Mississippi's state boundaries which were removed by legislation passed in 1990. MS Constitution

4. FREE ELECTIONS FOR CITY ANNEXATIONS : To allow for free elections in annexed area's prior to any city annexation taking place. Ultimately to supplant all city municipial government services with services offered by the county and thereby barring any need for a city to annex adjacient area's pretending to offer additional services. To expanded the powers granted in MS Code Section SEC. 19-3-55. Elections for county purposes may be ordered by petition of qualified electors.

5. ILLEGAL ALIENS :  To introduce legislation and/or Initiative to deport illegal aliens from the state of Mississippi. To have heavy punishment for employers who hire illegal aliens. To make English the official language in the state of Mississippi and to withdraw funding for Bi-Lingual education in the government schools. To enforce all laws that the federal government chooses     NOT to enforce in regard to illegal aliens. To make public record all complaints about illegal aliens and the state and or federal agents assigned to investigate the complaint, and the outcome of the complaint.

Other objectives : To preserve and display Mississippi's State Flag. To work for locally controlled charter public schools. To adopt the United States Constitution at the MS State and local levels. To commit to a NO TAX INCREASE pledge. To support legislation in opposition to illegal aliens. To oppose racial quota affirmative action.  To oppose and eliminate bogus/one sided hate crime legislation.
